Description Paul Smith 2013-01-27 21:51:09 UTC
After the last selinux-policy updates, I cannot boot my machine. I am getting the following error:

kernel: ata1.00 exception emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 action 0x0
kernel: ata1.00: BMDMA stat 0x24
kernel: ata1.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT

Some people are suggesting that my hard disk is dying, but I do not think so. In truth, a similar problem has occurred in the past and it was due to selinux:

In addition, I would like to tell you that I can access to my home directory from inside the live CD environment, and I am copying my files to my external disk with no problem.

Are you able to boot with enforcing=0 as kernel parameter?

Comment 3 Paul Smith 2013-01-28 20:51:51 UTC
Thanks, Miroslav. I have meanwhile re-installed Fedora and the reported problem is now gone. My hard disk seems to be fine.

Unfortunately, I did not do any relabelling. Anyway, the problem seems now overcome.
