+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #759801 +++ Description of problem: I used pkcon what-provides, then pasted what it said into pkcon install, whereupon pkcon install emitted an error message, "This tool could not find any available package". Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): $ rpm -q PackageKit PackageKit-0.8.7-1.fc18.x86_64 How reproducible: Consistently Steps to Reproduce: 1.pkcon what-provides libidn.so.11 2.It suggests that I need libidn-1.26-1.fc18.i686 3.pkcon install libidn-1.26-1.fc18.i686 Actual results: Command failed: This tool could not find any available package: could not find libidn-1.26-1.fc18.i686 Expected results: It should either install the package I requested, or emit a more specific error message. Additional info: "yum install" accepts the notation emitted by pkcon what-provides.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '18'. Fedora 20 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-06-23. Fedora 20 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates.
