Description Andreas Zuber 2013-01-29 17:49:12 UTC
The whole history about this bug can be reviewed in Puppetlabs bugtracker:
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/8210

In short:

- If a machine runs on KVM, Facter sometimes can't figure that out
- Puppet on virtual machines on KVM (and RHEV) thinks they are physical
- The bug is closed upstream starting from Facter version 1.6.14
- The fix depends on virt-what.

I suggests that the EPEL Facter RPM (for 5 and 6) should be bumped to version 1.6.14 or higher and it should depend on the virt-what package.
