I encountered similar problem in Arch Linux, and there the resolution was to back to gstreamermm from version 0.10.11 to 0.10.10.2.

SPEC file

I added new spec file, to build 0.10.10.2 version, which fix the issue with subtitleeditor.

Hi Artur,

Thank you for the bug report and patch. Are you suggesting we downgrade the gstreamermm version? That cannot be done. We cannot downgrade packages once they hit stable, it breaks the upgrade path. All packages must be in increasing order of E-V-R to maintain a sane update path.

If this a bug in gstreamermm, you need to file a bug against that package (subtitleeditor owners cannot make changes to other packages), and hope that it gets fixed in a future version. If it isn't a bug, but rather an API/ABI change, then you'll have to wait for subtitleeditor to catch up with it.

Thanks,
Warm regards,
Ankur

If version 0.41.0 fixes this, could we get it into Rawhide so as to be able to use the program again?

Comment 7 Artur Szymczak 2014-01-12 18:17:21 UTC
No, 0.41.0 hasn't fixed this problem.
