it is either intel or gtk2 or both?
Problem has gone away. Updates fixed it, not sure which.
Discovered that turning off desktop effects in KDE fixes the issue.
even more evidence it's a driver issue (with compositing, most likely kernel/mesa related at this point).
Do you still see this with current libdrm and xorg-x11-drv-intel from updates-testing?
Yes the problem persist. libdrm-2.4.42-1.fc18.x86_64 libdrm-2.4.42-1.fc18.i686 xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.21.2-1.fc18.x86_64 Any other info you need let me know.
Problem has gone away. xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.21.4-1.fc18.x86_64 has fix it.
