I cannot reproduce this behaviour. Does the problem still exist for you with a more recent Fedora version?

Thanks. I've now reproduced the problem myself with Cinnamon and Gnome3. Log-out works fine with XFCE though. Reported upstream: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712397
