Description Michal Jaegermann 2013-02-04 22:13:45 UTC
Description of problem:

All utilites from texlive-tetex-bin which reside in /usr/bin (among these fmtutil-sys, updmap-sys but far from only) are really links to various files in /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/texlive/. The catch is that this directory entirely vanished, together with its contents, and 'yum provides ...' comes back with "No Matches found".

In particular that means that various package scripts are not doing anything useful.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
texlive-2012-15.20130202_r29008.fc19

Additional info:
I did not check but I would be not much surprised if texlive-2012-15.20130202_r29008.fc18 would turn out affected the same way.

/usr/bin/updmap-setup-kanji* avoided this slaughter as these link point to files in a different directory.

Comment 1 Jerry James 2013-02-04 23:08:24 UTC
Some of the files are now in /usr/share/texlive/texmf/scripts/tetex, and some are in /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex, but the symlinks are all pointing into /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/texlive.

Indeed, a more thorough search reveals that "targets" are located now as:

/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/allcm.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/allneeded.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/dvi2fax.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/dvired.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf/scripts/tetex/fmtutil.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf/scripts/tetex/fmtutil-sys.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/kpsetool.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/kpsewhere.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf/scripts/tetex/texconfig-dialog.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf/scripts/tetex/texconfig-sys.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf/scripts/tetex/texlinks.sh
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/updmap.pl
/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/tetex/updmap-sys.sh

and all are owned by texlive-tetex-svn28830.3.0-15.fc19 package,
but links go into /usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/scripts/texlive/.

Comment 3 Jindrich Novy 2013-02-05 09:56:07 UTC
Yes, this is why I haven't released the update even to testing. Seems like upstream is doing some refactoring which is not really consistent. I will notify you when a fixed variant is to be relased to updates-testing.
