Description of problem: When opening a new canvas or an existing image with the Gimp, it consistently crashes. I've tried running it as a new user and over ssh -X but it still crashes. However, I have a 32bit machine that has the Gimp installed and it works fine. This looks pretty much like bug #879499, just on Fedora 18. Changing component to uim accordingly.
I can confirm that the work around from bug #879499 (running "GTK_IM_MODULE=uim gimp") works.
