Comment 1 Dan Mashal 2013-02-21 06:06:11 UTC
Looking at the spec file I'm not sure why this is happening. There are no hard requires in the package. It should update like any normal package

If you try 'yum update' instead of 'yum upgrade' does it still fail?

Also have you tried doing a 'yum clean cache' ; 'yum update' or 'yum clean all' ; 'yum update' and still get the issue?

Are you upgrading from f17 to f18? You usually use 'yum upgrade' if upgrading between releases.

Have you modified yum.conf? I do see 3rd party repos and lots of yum plugins there.

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2013-02-21 13:51:17 UTC
question is, where is 'mate-file-manager-archiver' coming from? I don't see any fedora package providing that. ??

Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2013-02-21 14:14:03 UTC
OK, so mate-file-manager-archiver subpkg created here in
mate-file-archiver-1.5.1-1.fc18
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=367405

but that subpkg no longer exists in latest builds.

Methinks you missed adding an

I have Mate installed, and mate-file-archiver is the file archiver of this desktop. In my system (Fedora 18 up to date), Yum doesn't fail but it shows the same version once and again as a package to update. But it IS updated.
It happens using Yum update and using Apper.

Package mate-file-archiver-1.5.1-6.fc17:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing mate-file-archiver-1.5.1-6.fc17'
as soon as you are able to.
Please go to the following url:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2013-2975/mate-file-archiver-1.5.1-6.fc17
then log in and leave karma (feedback).

Comment 11 Basil Mohamed Gohar 2013-02-24 15:49:43 UTC
Running the update from updates-testing worked, and a subsequent full yum upgrade run worked just fine, as well. So, I can say that, if and when this gets pushed to regular updates, the issue seems to have been addressed.

Thanks!

Here, in Fedora 18, YUM shows this error message:
Error: Paquete: mate-file-manager-archiver-1.5.1-1.fc18.x86_64 (@fedora)
           Necesita: mate-file-archiver(x86-64) = 1.5.1-1.fc18

               mate-file-archiver(x86-64) = 1.5.1-4.fc18
Podría intentar utilizar el comando --skip-broken para sortear el problema

So for me it is not fixed.

Thanks!
