Do you mean the first pressing Alt_R only?
The first trigger key launches ibus-hangul engine and the delay can be happened but once ibus-hangul is launched, I think Alt_R can switches the engines immediately.

This issue happens in both Alt_R (modifier) and ctrl+space(switch source)

Oh, I'm asking if your problem is caused by the first pressing shortcut key but it's not reproduced after ibus engines are launched.
If yes, I can reproduce your problem as I described below. but if no, I don't reproduce your problem.
I don't ask other shortcut keys.

You could check if ibus-hangul is launched by ps command after press Alt_R; ps -ef.

Thanks. I could reproduce your problem.
Now I also understand f18 gnome-shell has a problem with ibus.

I integrated that fix in ibus-1.5.1-1 but I forgot to copy the fix in gtk2 to gtk3.
Now fixing this bug.

After updating gtk3-3.7.10, gnome-shell-3.7.90, gnome-settings-daemon-3.7.90, etc, this issue doesn't happen in gtk3 applications.

Then, comment #11 happens in libreoffice-core-4.0.0.3-5.fc19.x86_64
Strange.
