More-recent log data is often the most interesting, but it's also useful to look back further than that. With the current journalctl output options, one can either load everything, scroll to the end, and then scroll back up or else start with the end-of-the-file data and re-run with different selected data windows, which is kind of tedious. If journalctl could be asked to start at the end and load going backwards, that seems like the best of all worlds. Combined with bug #867841 and bug #868284, this would make a fast and convenient default output.
Implemented in git.
