Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Namita Soman 2013-02-12 17:17:31 UTC
This bug is created as a clone of upstream ticket:
https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/3394

We keep the maximum nsDS5ReplicaId in the replicated tree. On replica-install we increment it and assign the new value to the new replica.

Then, we run updates, and in 20-replication.update, we `add: nsDS5ReplicaId: 3`. Apparently the attribute is not single valued.

Comment 1 Namita Soman 2013-02-12 19:03:38 UTC
Please add steps to verify this

Comment 2 Petr Viktorin (pviktori) 2013-02-13 09:50:20 UTC
1. Install replica
2. Do a LDAP search on cn=replication,cn=etc,dc=example,dc=com - e.g.:
    ldapsearch -x -h localhost -D 'cn=Directory Manager' -w <password> -b cn=replication,cn=etc,<suffix>
3. Verify there is only one nsDS5ReplicaId value, and possibly that it's greater than 3

Comment 3 Martin Kosek 2013-02-21 09:04:49 UTC
Fixed upstream:

master: b27267b00a3261e0d4a4dd9e1f4055d43a6e663a
ipa-3-1: aec976a645f161d891248eb792d82b02b6691010

Comment 6 Michael Gregg 2014-01-08 23:58:52 UTC
verified against ipa-server-3.3.3-8.el7.x86_64

[root@ipaqavmd ~]# ldapsearch -x -h 10.16.98.181 -D 'cn=Directory Manager' -w <pw> -b cn=replication,cn=etc,$BASEDN | grep nsDS5ReplicaId

nsDS5ReplicaId: 10
