Upstream Chirp is now available. I was able to drop in the latest version 0.3.0 and everything built, rpmlint is clean, and the program works well. I can co-maintain this package if you like.
It appears python-suds is a necessary package for chirp in version 0.3.0 to support downloading frequencies from some Internet sources.
Thanks for the pointer on the new requirement. I don't mind a co-maintainer but it's really not much of a burden. Just letting me know when there's a new version is great! Doing a local test build now.
