Description Gabriel Szasz 2013-02-19 10:40:44 UTC
Created attachment 699397 [details]
https://[CONFIGSERVER]/examples/katello-register.xml

Description of problem:

Cloud Engine User Guide, Procedure 7.4, step 1: The note below example application blueprint contains following reference to the example XML published by Audrey Configuration Server:

Note

This example application blueprint is also available on your Audrey Configuration Server at:

https://[CONFIGSERVER]/examples

The text of the note implies that the "examples" directory contains a XML file that is identical (or at least consistent) with the example application blueprint above. Nevertheless, the "examples" directory contains only one file - "katello-register.xml" - that is not even consistent with the example application blueprint above (e.g. it does not contain [NAME], [PROFILE] and [UUID] placeholders).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
CF 1.1

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install and setup aeolus configserver
2. Open https://[CONFIGSERVER]/examples/katello-register.xml (replace [CONFIGSERVER] with aeolus-configserver FQDN or IP).
3. Compare it to the XML code published at Cloud Engine User Guide, Procedure 7.4, step 1

Actual results:
The Cloud Engine User Guide, Procedure 7.4 contains [NAME], [PROFILE] and [UUID], but none of these can be found in the katello-register.xml. Instead, one (and only) placeholder FIXME can be found there (it sits instead of [UUID].

Expected results:
As implied by the text of the note in Procedure 7.4, step 1, both examples should be identical or at least consistent.

Closing this bug as CloudForms 1.x is now a retired product.
