Occasionally Packagekit stops, does not complete the operation, perhaps after you have downloaded a package. It is necessary each time (when it happens) come into /var/lib/rpm , delete files _DB * and give sudo yum update (or sudo dnf update) to restart everything.
It is a pity because as packet handler is not evil.

The zif backend has been replaced by the hawkey backend in F20 and rawhide.
