I suppose you know this, but just in case: 1.9.0 is a "development" release.  It is not meant for use in (presumably stable) distributions.  (Odd-minor-number Wireshark releases are development versions.)  Wireshark 1.10.0 will be the next stable release (will be released sometime later this year--before June).

(I'm a Wireshark core developer and I just happened to come across this bug while looking for something else.)

BTW: I've done a bunch of work on Wireshark's RPM .spec file and freedesktop.org integration.  At the point at which you upgrade to the next stable Wireshark version (due in the next month or two IIRC) you may want to check these changes out (it could mean doing less work in Redhat's .spec file).  (Of course you can also see these changes in the development 1.9.x versions.)

(I could also file a separate bug about that if you think it would be useful.)
