rgrep is obsoleted by jed -r. xjed, see 77928. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 82218 ***
jed -r ? sure ? rgrep is like grep xjed is a very light code editor, with little dependencies and fast with X-free through the net
grep -r, actually. Typo. xjed suffers some of the same problems as jed (lack of unicode support), and, as opposed to a console editor, doesn't offer many benefits (such as integration with the various desktop environments.) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 82218 ***
yes, not today but soon "As many of you know, the next slang release will provide full support for unicode using the UTF-8 encoding..." http://www.ruptured-duck.com/jed-users/msg00219.html http://space.mit.edu/~davis/jedsoft/images/jedutf8.png are going rh to delete all packages without gnome/kde integration ? -thanks-
No, although those GUI apps that integrate into the desktop will be preferred. For non-terminal editors there are the various notepads, gvim, emacs, and xemacs already included, not to mention jed/joe/vi/etc. in a terminal.
vi(gvim) and emacs(xemacs) are classical editors , on the other hand jed(xjed) is a mix of both. Light and fast with emacs emulation. I hope with new slang2(utf8) you rethink to put xjed again -thanks-
