Description of problem:
after updating to a new kernel  hp 3970 scanner produces gap in scanned image. Switched back to 3.7.5-201 from 3.7.9-201 and works as before.

sane-backends-libs-1.0.23-7
sane-backends-1.0.23-7
How reproducible:
install latest kernel and upgrade above sane code.

could not be a sane problem and be a kernel driver issue, not sure if I doc'ed this write.

saw a newer kernel install today, any chance this fixes the driver or interface between sane and driver?  ( 3.7.9-205.fc18.x86_64 )

I suspect some issue in the USB kernel code then. Changing component accordingly.

upgraded to 3.8,4-202.fc18_x86 and the problem is gone. will close now.
