Doc Text:
Previously, the performance of displaying and updating sub-tabs in the General tab of virtual machines and templates in the User Portal was low when using older browsers such as Internet Explorer 8, reducing the overall performance of the User Portal. With this update, the implementation of these sub-tabs has been optimized to avoid unnecessary DOM operations, resulting in greater performance for sub-tabs in the General tab for virtual machines and templates both in the User Portal and Administration Portal.

Description Vojtech Szocs 2013-02-26 18:34:06 UTC
Description of problem:

When selecting items in Virtual Machines or Templates table, corresponding General sub-tab for that item will be shown by default.

In older browsers (such as IE8), showing the General sub-tab takes considerable amount of time and freezes the browser (UI) until the sub-tab is fully rendered.

This problem relates to following use-cases:
a, Nothing is selected in main table (sub-tab panel is hidden), user selects an item (sub-tab panel is shown)
b, There is already an item selected in main table (sub-tab panel is visible), user selects a different item (sub-tab panel is updated)

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Log into UserPortal and switch to Extended view
2. Select an item in Virtual Machines table
3. Observe General sub-tab performance

ok, is6, looks good (ram usage of IE is not rising in time).
