Description of problem: After suspending and waking my Notebook (Lenovo T61 7663-E53 with Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M Graphics Card) the screen remains black. Nothing except reboot helps to revive display. Except that the system seems to work fine, I can launch a terminal and enter reboot - just have to do it blindly. :-) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Kernel 3.8.1-201 How reproducible: 1. Suspending Computer 2. Waking Computer Steps to Reproduce: 1. pm-suspend or closing lid 2. hitting power button or opening lid Actual results: Display remains black Expected results: Display lights and shows something Additional info: Since I am a long time Linux user but no computer scientist or programmer I don't know which log (or what else?) to enclose to help clearifying and solving this problem but I am of course willing to help as much as I can.
Same problem here. Except with an Intel Integrated Video card (4000 if it makes a difference). I should also note that if I use the keyboard shortcuts it will change the brightness and make things ok again. so no need to reboot.
Same problem using Nvidia Geforce 9200M GS. Except I'm using i686 kernel :) Mark, tried your keyboard shortcuts trick - doesn't work for me.
