Comment 2 Marek Kašík 2013-03-15 14:14:21 UTC
Hi,

thank you for the PDF file, it helped me to locate the issue. There is a problem with allocation of certain arrays in cairo.
I've filled upstream bug for this. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62371.

I'm reassigning this to cairo.

Regards

Marek

I'm still seeing these symptoms in evince on Fedora 19. Any progress getting it fixed?

Comment 4 Need Real Name 2013-08-16 19:43:48 UTC
Also still seeing the problems. Bump version?

Comment 5 Need Real Name 2013-08-27 18:17:20 UTC
Hi - this is a pretty serious bug. PDFs created using LibreOffice are crashing and can't be printed.

@Red Hat: you have a pdf the causes the crash, need anything else?

@Reporter: can you bump severity?

Comment 6 Garrett Mitchener 2013-09-23 18:50:27 UTC
Still seeing this problem -- many files produced by TeX are coming out unprintable. I'd *really* like to see this fixed.

Comment 7 Need Real Name 2013-11-11 19:52:25 UTC
Come on guys, what's the workaround for this? Use Windows? LibreOffice created PDF files crash evince when printed, that's a segfault, normally these get treated pretty seriously!

This has been fixed upstream since March (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62371) are we not running with that patch?

Comment 8 Fedora End Of Life 2013-12-21 11:50:08 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '18'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be
able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 9 Need Real Name 2013-12-21 20:25:06 UTC
lionghostshop: any chance you can bump this to Fedora 20?

Red Hat: this is a reproduceable crasher bug that crashes evince using files produced from LibreOffice.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2014-02-05 19:37:05 UTC
Fedora 18 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2014-01-14. Fedora 18 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 11 Need Real Name 2014-02-05 21:47:27 UTC
This remains broken in Fedora 20. Please can you update the bug to F20?
