I will start the update process once Fedora 19 is branched from rawhide. Updating openobex now is not a good idea, because it breaks backward compatibility and none of dependent packages compiles with the new version.

Someone pointed out to me yesterday that the current versions of openobex / obexftp don't work properly with the bluez 5 stack in Fedora -- could you look into updating to openobex 1.7 for F20, please?

Hi. I'm planing to update openobex to the latest version (1.7.1) in rawhide. I already announced it on devel-list [1] two weeks ago. I would rather not update openobex in F20 since there was an API change and no dependent package builds successfully against it. Also given the circumstances I think it would be against Fedora guidelines to push such an update into F20. Can you be please more specific what doesn't work with the bluez 5 stack? Also note that bluez package has no dependency on openobex package FWIK. [1] https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2013-September/189017.html
New version available in rawhide -> openobex-1.7.1-1.fc21
Great, thanks for the new build! I'll ask for more information about bluez 5 and openobex/obexftp and get back to you when I find out more (sorry, I was only forwarding the request without knowing details). > Also note that bluez package has no dependency on openobex package FWIK. Yes, it's obexftp that depends on bluez -- for some reason I thought you were maintaining both openobex and obexftp.
