using wrong paths like

/root/

rather than

/root

in the rpm directories subwindow of the gnorpm 0.9 preferences
makes it very unhappy. In particular, the install window lists
the proper categories but once you open them to pick individual
packages, you find 1000's of copies of each package and their number
keeps increasing until you kill gnorpm.

I agree that one should NOT use paths like

/root/

but this is something that would probably confuse a novice
who might expect an error message like:

sorry, the path you have tried to add does not seem to be right.
did you mean $possible_alternatives ?
