Description of problem:
oVirt node installer does not detect RAID devices.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ovirt-node-iso-2.6.1-20120228.fc18.iso


How reproducible: Always


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot installer ISO and start installation.
2. When the installation target device selection appears, no suitable devices are found.

Actual results:
No valid install devices detected

Expected results:
Installer should identify RAID device as CCISS device and allow for selection as installation target.

Additional info:
Hardware: ProLiant DL365 G5, HP Smart Array P400i Controller, HPAE311A PCI3.0 Fibre Channel.

Tested also with RHEV rhev-hypervisor6-6.3-20130129.0.iso and no such problems.

Hey Raul,

please provide the output of lsblk and /var/log/ovirt.log so we've got some data to look at.

Hey,

thanks for the infos up to now.
Because the installer is writing the logs to a temporary log file in a different location, could you also provide this file /tmp/ovirt.log ?

Hi.

We have provisioned this server for production and I can't provide any more information on this problem, at least not in the near future.
