Description of problem: We are unable to create VMs in posixfs datacenter with RHS storagedomain when the quota mode is in Audit/Enforced mode for the datacenter. The quota dropdown while creating the VM is empty which is the reason we are unable to create the VM. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rhevm: rhevm-webadmin-portal-3.1.0-43.el6ev.noarch How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set the quota in Audit/Enforced mode for the posixfs datacenter 2. 3. Actual results: Cannot create VMs Expected results: Additional info:
please attach all relevant logs, screen-shots, also, does it work for you when quota is disabled?
Yes, works when quota is disabled.
could not reproduce. please provide reproducible. Separating this into two: - Creating new VM in Enforced mode without assigning a quota should not be permitted. To select Quota from quota drop down list the user must first create quotas in the Quota tab and define proper consumer. NOT A BUG. - Creating a disk in Audit mode should not be blocked by quota mechanism. Could not reproduce this bug.
1) Create a posixfs datacenter. 2) Change the quota from disabled to enforced. 3) Click on datacenter, I see the quota tab but see a way to assign quota. 4) Try creating a VM, it fails 5) Now change the quota mode to audit. 6) Create VM, add network interface but adding disk fails. All of this is with RHEVM 3.1
could not reproduce. please provide reproducible. Creating Disk on Audit mode does not fail for me. Please provide a log containing the Create-Disk Fail.
Just clearing one thing here; Anush seems to be working on 3.1, while the bz is set for 3.2. So indeed in 3.2 code this may not be reproducible (failure in audit), as there was an issue which may have been fixed since. So for 3.2 I'm lowering the priority for now. Please provide a reproducer based on the published beta.
