Created attachment 710009 [details] scr-of-3-stages.png Description of problem: If there is an update which requires update the notification (with active reboot button) is shown as soon as the update has started. This can confuse the user to click it right away but as the update hasn't happened yet he/she will fall into kind of an infinite loop. After the update is finished, the notification with the reboot button is shown again. I would expect to see the notification just after the update has finished. Screen-shot description, from the left: a) Just after the update has started b) Update almost done c) Update has finished. Note that the notification for reboot has been rise again Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): PackageKit-0.8.7-1.fc18.x86_64 apper-0.8.0-2.fc18.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have some 'restart required' updates available (e.g. kernel) 2. Start update 3. Actual results: 'Reboot is required' + reboot button is show immediately. Expected results: The notification is shown after the update is finished.
Known issue, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314816 will be fixed when apper-0.8.1 (and also possibly new PackageKit/PackageKit-Qt bindings) is released (soon).
