Description gatlibs 2013-03-16 21:40:27 UTC
Description of problem:
In Asunder's preferences, in the first tab ("General"), is "Destination folder". It defaults to ~/ for me. I change it to ~/Music, but it returns to ~/. It is trivial since I adjust the files' locations as Music/%A...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Name : asunder
Arch : x86_64
Epoch : 0
Version : 2.2
Release : 2.fc18

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the preferences.
2. Change "Destination folder" to something other than ~/.
3. Press "OK".

Actual results:
When reopening preferences (or ripping from) Asunder uses ~/.

Expected results:
Asubder should display (and rip to) the changed location.

A screencast (cropped for the window) of Asunder not accepting the change.

Thanks for your detailed bug report! It looks like a regression. I worked in the past. Reported upstream.

Comment 3 Andrew Smith 2013-05-17 05:04:23 UTC
Thanks for the bug report.

Sadly this is not Asunder's fault, as far as I can tell.

In one of the GTK updates they changed how the filechooser works for choosing directories. So now double-clicking on the directory you want doesn't work, instead you have to select it with a single click and click ok.

I haven't changed anything in Asunder, it was GTK that changed. But if anyone feels it can be fixed in Asunder - please let me know, I could't find a way.

Comment 4 Marcin Zajaczkowski 2013-10-05 13:49:31 UTC
It seems to be not reproducible with gtk3/gnome 3.8.4-1 and Asunder 2.3-2 on Fedora 19. I was able to changed a destination folder on a fresh install.

Probably something was "fixed" in the mean time in GTK (as Andrew suggested). Could you check it again with Fedora 19?

Comment 5 gatlibs 2013-10-05 19:04:50 UTC
I'm using F20 Alpha. Asunder changes the destination in preferences fine. If one of my computers has an installation of F19, then I'll test it there. Is there a library from Gtk that you want me to list?

I don't have an installation of F18 for sure, but it won't end of life till after F20 arrives. The bug - wherever it was - doesn't seem to be aroung any longer.

Comment 6 Fedora End Of Life 2013-12-21 15:26:12 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '18'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be
able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 7 Marcin Zajaczkowski 2013-12-21 15:44:31 UTC
Closing as non-reproducible in F19 and F20.
