I´m try with slackware 8.1, suse 8.1, etc. All with kernl 2.4. Hard: DPT 
2022A/9x, module: eata.o, Server: AcerAltos 17000, Micro: 1xPentium60MHZ, SMP: 
support, BUS: EISA.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.4.19

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.(slackware)(kernel: scsi.s)Boot: vmlinuz ramdisk root=/dev/fd0
2.(pass all disk, total: 5)
3. cfdisk /dev/sda, partition: ok
4. setup, and "Add swap.."
5. Here the problem!: 
 General protection fault: 0000
 CPU: 0
 EIP: ...
 ...
 Process mkswap ...

I would recommend filing slackware bugs in the slackware bug tracker, not the
Red Hat Linux one....
