Description Adam Williamson 2013-03-19 23:51:48 UTC
Description of problem:
Occurs on boot of a Fedora 19 live image built from current repositories. SEalert thinks the label is wrong, but if so, it's not because of anything I did.
SELinux is preventing /usr/bin/bash from 'getattr' accesses on the file /usr/libexec/chrony-helper.

***** Plugin restorecon (99.5 confidence) suggests *************************

If you want to fix the label.
/usr/libexec/chrony-helper default label should be bin_t.
Then you can run restorecon.
Do
# /sbin/restorecon -v /usr/libexec/chrony-helper

***** Plugin catchall (1.49 confidence) suggests ***************************

If you believe that bash should be allowed getattr access on the chrony-helper file by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# grep chrony-helper /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
# semodule -i mypol.pp

Comment 1 Adam Williamson 2013-03-19 23:52:13 UTC
Final blocker: "In most cases, there must be no SELinux 'AVC: denied' messages or abrt crash notifications on initial boot and subsequent login"

Comment 2 Adam Williamson 2013-03-19 23:53:32 UTC
There's also 'bash attempted ioctl on chrony-helper'.
