It looks like, when I compose an F19 live image on an F19 compose host, all the packages that provide any given dependency are being pulled in, instead of the single best one. For instance, the desktop live I just built contains all four of: imsettings-xfce imsettings-gsettings imsettings-lxde imsettings-qt It looks like this is simply to satisfy the "imsettings-desktop-module(x86-64)" requirement of the "imsettings" package. I can't see any other reason for it. But weirdly, one other package which provides that was not pulled in: imsettings-mate. See also http://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=923547 for a package which is present on the live image for absolutely _no reason at all_, so far as I can make out.
livecd-creator uses yum for this, it doesn't make those kinds of decisions.
I think optional packages are also being pulled in?
(In reply to comment #2) > I think optional packages are also being pulled in? Ah that is bug 923547. Has this one changed then? TC3 images seem smaller than TC2 at least.
I think this is probably just the same thing as 923547, I forgot to close 'em as dupes. Probably some optional packages pulling in all the imsettings.
Hope you don't mind me closing this as dupe for you ... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 923547 ***
