Red Hat Product Errata RHEA-2013:0889 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE mingw-virt-viewer enhancement update 2013-06-10 23:53:14 UTC

Description Marian Krcmarik 2013-03-20 17:03:11 UTC
Description of problem:
Migration falls back to Switch host method instead of performing seamless migration method when connection is established through proxy. I am not even sure this can be resolved somehow conceptually, since new CONNECT method is called from client to proxy to reconnect to new (dest) host. But I want to log a bug to have info and answer what to do with this problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mingw-virt-viewer-0.5.3-22.el6ev

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect to a VM through Spice proxy (get squid proxy running, pass spice proxy through controller i.e. using activex test page)
2. Make sure you do not have direct connection to hosts from client.
3. Migrate VM.

Actual results:
Migration falls back to SWITCH HOST method

Expected results:
Seamless migration (if it's even possible).

I am not sure how you found that migration was not seamless. Care to share that?

testing locally, all on Fedora, with squid proxy, the client does seamless migration, even through the proxy. I don't see any technical reason why this shouldn't work atm.
