Description Daniele 2013-03-21 10:47:59 UTC
1. Proposed title of this feature request
Storage --> Edit Domain to show only the luns available to that particular SD

2. Who is the customer behind the request?
Account name: PGDS
Customer segment:
TAM/SRM customer: no
Strategic Customer yes/no: yes

3. What is the nature and description of the request?
Storage --> Edit Domain shows ALL luns available to the DC , not just those in the particular SD.

From Webadmin, "Storage --> Edit Domain" shows ALL the FC luns both "Used" and "Free" in the datacentre. This makes it impossible to identify which LUNs belong to the particular Storage Domain. And there is no other practical way of find out.

In RHEV3.0 , "Edit Domain" only showed those LUNs either "Used" by the particular storage domain and those that were "Free". This made it easy to identify.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
This behavior makes it impossible for them to identify which LUNs are assigned to which storage domain.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional
requirements here)
Go back to something similar to the 3.0 display, where, while editing a SD, you could see only the LUN's belonging to it.

6. For each functional requirement listed in question 5, specify how Red Hat
and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully
implemented.
From Webadmin, open "Storage --> Edit Domain" and check which luns are displayed

7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat bugzilla?
no

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?
They need this as soon as possible.

9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input?
no

10. List any affected packages or components.
RHEV GUI

11. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if
implemented?
Yes

The solution will be to sort the LUNs so that the ones that belong to the storage domain appear first.
We have to show the other luns as well to allow to extend the storage domain.
The rest of the grayed out luns belong to other luns and we'll either remove those or just put them last.
