Description of problem: The package initial-setup is not included in the default installation. It should be mandatory for all groups except minimal in the same way firstboot is. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): F19 Alpha TC2 Additional info: initial-setup-0.3.1-1.fc19 is present on the TC2 DVD but misses one dependency in it's spec file (python-di) initial-setup-0.3.2-1.fc19 is the current version for F19 with the dependency issue fixed
Fixed in comps.
msivak: should we also take firstboot out?
It is not necessary. I have already disabled all the screens in it. We might remove it from Fedora unless there are 3rd party plugins we would like to keep available... do any spins use their own firstboot screens?
msivak: "It is not necessary" - well, it'll still confuse people if it's present; it would be clearer to take it out. Good question about spins, though. I don't think any use custom firstboot stuff, but we can check.
We should remove firstboot from comps, because it serves no further purpose; it just makes the ISO bigger and introduces more paths in which something can go wrong. If any spin requires firstboot, they can adjust their kickstart.
Discussed at 2013-03-27 blocker review meeting: http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-blocker-review/2013-03-27/f19alpha-blocker-review-3.2013-03-27-16.01.log.txt . Accepted as a blocker per criterion https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_19_Alpha_Release_Criteria#Expected_installed_system_boot_behavior : "A system installed with a graphical package set must boot to the 'firstboot' utility on the first boot after installation. The firstboot utility must be able to create a working user account." (note intent of criterion is to cover a 'firstboot-type utility', wording is currently being revised). It appears this fix didn't make TC2, but should make TC3. kparal: good point.
I think this is fixed as of TC3.
Yes, it was fixed in commit ddf61ab5d28d128f85696c3422fcbdaaad8c135d, Tue Mar 26 11:46:01 2013 . Closing. But note https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=929403 .
