It happening frequently to me as well, often when the hotspot is invoked for the overview, or when selecting either an Applications menu or Places menu, or any other clicking on an icon on the panel, for that matter. $ rpm -qa gnome-shell gnome-shell-3.8.1-1.fc19.x86_64 Fedora 19 RC4.
