I try to open zip archive by double clicking from caja. backtrace_rating: 4 cmdline: engrampa /home/titov/svn/development/gui/js/gwt/images.zip crash_function: egg_tree_multi_drag_button_release_event executable: /usr/bin/engrampa kernel: 3.8.8-202.fc18.x86_64 package: mate-file-archiver-1.5.1-6.fc18 reason: Process /usr/bin/engrampa was killed by signal 11 (SIGSEGV) uid: 1000 ureports_counter: 1
Did this issue still exits with an updated MATE desktop, we're are on 1.6.x ? There is also a bugfix update from mate-file-archiver in updates-testing. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2013-12068/mate-file-archiver-1.6.0-2.fc18?_csrf_token=a97d978ad2fdfe3946ae90e3803f84a4569bbae6 Pls test.
Unfortunatly now I can't test this issue on exactly same file. But good news is that on other zip files this issue does not reproduces.
Thank you for giving feedback, i'm glad to hear that the issue is gone. If it happens again i will re-open the report.

I get this bug again when open archive which attached above and double click inside it on QR folder, after that engrampa crashes. I could upload detailed info about crash from gnome-abrt history if somebody say me how (which files needed and where find it in my system).
Unfortunately is very rare reproducible.
Ok, i downloaded your zip archive an i could open it with double click inside the download folder in caja, also extracing works well with mate-file-archiver. Do you use current mate-file-manager-1.6.1-9.fc18? Can you open the archive from a open mate-file-archiver window? All abrt debug info's are stored under /var/tmp/abrt Here are folders for every abrt alarm which include a component file to know about the failed package and if you're in the right folder. The important file called backtrace which you can attach here. Anyway i will re-open the report.

No, I use mate-file-archiver-1.6.0-2.fc18.x86_64 from fedora 18 repo. Is it not latest version? Should I install mate-file-archiver from testing repo? I can open that archive both from mate-file-archiver and from caja by doubleclicking. I observe crash just one time - the first time, and not at the moment of doubleclicking on file, but at the moment I double click on folder inside archive when archive was already opened in mate-file-archiver. The next attempts are all be successfull - program doesn't crash anymore. I don't know what it may be. Can only suggest it may be related to some action, which doing just once for each archive - some caching, generating previews or any such things like that. Backtrace I attached above.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '18'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 18 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2014-01-14. Fedora 18 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
