Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2013-04-03 18:36:43 UTC
Mind testing a lensfun-0.2.7 scratch/test build?
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=5206809

In the meantime, can you provide a sample raw image file for me to test with?

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2013-04-03 19:20:17 UTC
trying this same operation with ufraw/gimp on f18 fails for me too, but I get a different error from gimp:

Opening '/tmp/dsc_6569.nef_I0AWUW.ufraw' failed: Could not open '/tmp/dsc_6569.nef_I0AWUW.ufraw' for reading: Unknown reason

Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2013-04-03 19:24:54 UTC
ah, installing ufraw-gimp helps. now f18 is happy. will try to dig up a f17 box now for more debuggging

Comment 5 Martin Donald 2013-04-03 21:44:44 UTC
Hi Dieter,

I would like to help test the lensfun-0.2.7 scratch/test build.

I have not built from .src package for years now and things have changed so rapidly so I will need some help to get started.

Comment 6 Martin Donald 2013-04-04 00:32:38 UTC
I did build lensfun-0.2.7 and installed the the resulting lensfun-0.2.7-1.fc17.x86_64.rpm.

I tried the ufraw -> gimp transfer again and it failed with the same error message as before.

I downgraded again to 0.2.5-6 and function was restored.

Sorry, I addressed you as Dieter before, it should have been Rex.

I got the same error using the ufraw-gimp plugin to open a .cr2 in Gimp.
F17 64 bit Xfce Gimp 2.8.4, UFRaw 0.19.2

Can open in UFRaw, save to .ppm and open .ppm in Gimp

Sorry forgot to add, as mentioned above downgrading lensfun to 0.2.5-6 does restore functionality.

Comment 9 Rex Dieter 2013-05-12 02:49:18 UTC
confirmed a ufraw rebuild (against this newer lensfun) makes things happier. I think that's probably the path of least resistance here.

This may well be a duplicate of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=958767 -- user-observed error is the same, both seem to be caused by lensfun
