Description:
This library provides support for playing SID music modules originally
created on Commodore 64 and compatibles. It contains a processing engine
for MOS 6510 machine code and MOS 6581 Sound Interface Device (SID)
chip output. It is used by music player programs like SIDPLAY and
several plug-ins for versatile audio players.

Note this is a re-review for undeprecating libsidplay. I want to undeprecate libsidplay to be able to re-add support for .sid files to gstreamer.

After discussion on fedora-devel it is clear that a better solution is to port the gstreamer plugin to sidplay v2, closing this.

sidplay v2 has not seem much activity lately upstream, it appears to be superseeded by libsidplayfp / sidplayfp which is a fork / continuation of the original sidplay v2. So the sidplay plan for Fedora is now to package libsidplayfp (which is fully Free software) and move all sid plugins for media players to that.

libsidplayfp review is in bug 951820, sidplayfp review is in bug 951823.
