I am seeing this, too, and have been for a while. I am now on 0.97.8-1.

It started on 1/17/2013 if that helps determine what package version introduced it. Here are the timestamps from the e-mails. It's not several times a day and doesn't seem to have a regular pattern.

Comment 2 Philip Prindeville 2013-05-29 18:17:21 UTC
I'm seeing it too.

It started when I upgraded from F16 to F18.

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2013-12-21 12:43:49 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '18'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be
able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 4 Fedora End Of Life 2014-02-05 20:32:29 UTC
Fedora 18 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2014-01-14. Fedora 18 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 5 Philip Prindeville 2014-02-26 18:10:17 UTC
Don't know if this is relevant, but since bug #787434 was rejected, I've had to create the clamd socket as owner/group defang:

[root@mail mail]# ls -ld /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/clamd.sock /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/
drwx--x---. 2 defang defang 80 Feb 25 14:53 /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/
srw-rw----. 1 defang defang 0 Feb 25 14:53 /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/clamd.sock
[root@mail mail]# ls -lZd /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/clamd.sock /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/
drwx--x---. defang defang system_u:object_r:antivirus_var_run_t:s0 /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/
srw-rw----. defang defang system_u:object_r:antivirus_var_run_t:s0 /var/run/clamd.mimedefang/clamd.sock

What do you need to make progress on this bug?

Comment 7 Juan Orti 2014-03-12 21:33:05 UTC
I get this same error when clamd is notified of the database update. The database is reloaded but it prints the error.

After upgrading to amavisd-new-2.8.1-1.fc20.noarch on 2014-03-21, I now see this error, which I hadn't seen before. I can confirm the same as Juan reported in Comment 7.

Comment 9 Raman Gupta 2014-03-29 02:18:50 UTC
Since upgrading to Fedora 20 from Fedora 19, I am now seeing this as well:

Comment 10 Alex Regan 2014-04-16 17:01:35 UTC
Just wondering if there is any progress on this? I'm also experiencing this problem, across many servers, making management of all those cron emails a pain.

What is the normal procedure for this? It looks to be ongoing for quite a while - has anyone investigated this yet?

Comment 11 Jacob Gårder 2014-04-22 12:33:09 UTC
I can confirm this as well. After upgrading to Fedora20 I started to get these too.
