Description Jes Sorensen 2013-04-10 14:09:03 UTC
Description of problem:
Plugging anything into the 2 USB 3.0 ports on a Samsung NP900X4D laptop does
not result in anything showing up when running the Fedora 18 kernel.

Note that using the rear USB 3.0 port for USB installs of F18 did work for
some reason.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.7.9-101.fc17.x86_64

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot system
2. Plug a USB device in, like a USB memory stick or a webcam
3. Watch nothing happen, nothing showing up in lsusb

Comment 6 Jes Sorensen 2014-01-06 12:55:46 UTC
Bug is still present in 3.12.5-302.fc20.x86_64, will test 3.12.6-300
when I have a chance.

Comment 7 Jes Sorensen 2014-02-05 15:57:44 UTC
Patch from here solves the problem:

http://marc.info/?l=linux-usb&m=139000237014926&w=2

I am currently running this build, and I can now suspend/resume and use
my USB ports.

Any chance we can have this patch applied to the Fedora 20 kernel until it
ripples down via upstream?

Thanks,
Jes

This has been applied and should make the next builds.
