Hi,

Is this compatible with gnome 3.8? The site says it's only compatible with 3.6 currently.

http://tiheum.deviantart.com/art/GTK3-Gnome-Shell-Faience-255097456

Therefore, it cannot be built for rawhide, or F19 :/

Thanks,
Warm regards,
Ankur

The theme author says he is making a 3.8 compatible version, but has no ETA on its release.

I'd still like to get this theme out for Fedora 18. I'll push an update for Fedora 19+ once the 3.8 version is available.

Great! Works on GNOME 3.8 but some minor quirks. If you're interested, there's a patch here posted by Tavernier[1]:
http://pastebin.com/BSs3uWQm

Which fixes some issues on 3.8:
- removes the colour nautilus draws over the desktop (i.e. you can now see icons...)
- adds "Frequents Apps / All" in overview

Would obviously go when he releases a compatible version, but just in case you want it in the mean time.

I have seen that patch, but it does not fix all the issues.

Here's the RPM with the patch if you want to see it.

Now that I've updated to F19 I've fixed the problem. Gnome 3.8 compatible now.

Faince and Faience-Ocre is already build in mate-themes-extras for f19/f20.
For f21 i have it disabled for the momment, until upstream did an update for GTK3-3.14.

Comment 8 Michael Cronenworth 2014-11-16 18:14:03 UTC
Having a package with many themes induces a large set of dependencies. To use the mate package I'd have to install 100MB of additional dependencies I would never use.

Comment 9 Wolfgang Ulbrich 2014-11-16 19:40:10 UTC
I only wanted to notice you that you create a package conflict.
But if you want to bring it in for f20, i'm happy to disable the build of those 2 themes, when you include some specific modifications for mate applications in 2 or 3 extra files. ;)

Comment 10 Michael Cronenworth 2015-09-30 18:41:34 UTC
Upstream is dead. Theme won't work with Gnome > 3.10. I have no desire to carry patches and maintain it.
