Description KitchM 2013-04-18 21:59:39 UTC
Description of problem: With lshw and lshw-gui installed, the Hardware Lister entry is missing from the menu system. Also, it will not run from terminal.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Look in menus.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:
No Hardware Lister found

Expected results:
Should be found on menu

Additional info:
It does not start from terminal either. There is no man page and there is just a return to the command prompt when executing lshw or lshw-gui.

Comment 1 KitchM 2013-04-21 21:00:11 UTC
Just uninstalled it and then installed it fresh with the debug component, all from YumEx, and it reappeared on the menu. However, it still won't start from the menu. But it does start from the terminal (lshw-gui) after requesting password.

Thanks for your report.

I am not able to reproduce these problems.

Do you still see this issue?

Things have changed with various recent updates. Now the item is in the menu system, but it will not run when selected. However, it will run from a terminal command line by entering lshw-gui.

But on exiting, it takes a while to shut down and returns the message:

(gtk-lshw:4486): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_main_quit: assertion `main_loops != NULL' failed

Otherwise it was working from there.

Does this help?

Just got the latest for FC18 and installed thru yumex. Everything worked just fine.

Selecting from menu caused a password request window to appear, and then it opened just fine. There was an hourglass indicator while it was open, but I selected Refresh and the computer showed up. I selected that and the motherboard showed up, I selected that and the various parts showed up. (Probably better if that happened automatically upon start.)

Sure glad it is working now. Darn handy program!

Thanks very much.
