TIPC development currently happens in-tree upstream, so it's safe to enable TIPC in the kernel config file. Please see history below and also check out https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=953379#c8 for upstream's comment about current development status. Upstream proposes to include CONFIG_TIPC=m in the kernel config file. +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #574800 +++ Description of problem: Recently we've found that TIPC has been getting maintained out of tree upstream for some time, and as such, the upstream TIPC code is in bad shape (lots of possible bugs/errors/oopses etc). As such, given its state, and relatively small community use, disable it in the config for now while we work on getting upstream back into shape. --- Additional comment from Fedora Update System on 2010-03-23 10:56:29 EDT --- kernel-2.6.32.10-90.fc12 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 12. http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/kernel-2.6.32.10-90.fc12 --- Additional comment from Fedora Update System on 2010-03-24 19:40:37 EDT --- kernel-2.6.32.10-90.fc12 has been pushed to the Fedora 12 testing repository. I agree, TIPC has had upstream participation for some time now, and it seems the maintainers are dedicated to continuing to work in the right direction. I think Fedora can have it re-enabled as such. I'll take care of that tomorrow.

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=5301984 New build, forgot to set TIPC_CONFIG_PORTS
This was fixed in the 3.9.0 build.
