Description Mark Huth 2013-04-29 07:05:57 UTC
Description of problem:
RHEV v3.1 has dropped the 'mount ISO from SPICE client' functionality. We made heavy use functionality and would love to have it back (in remote-viewer.exe)

Comment 1 Michal Skrivanek 2013-04-29 07:14:48 UTC
What do you mean by dropped? There is supposed to be no change.
Which platform?

If indeed true I'd think it's blocking at least 3.2, flagging accordingly

Comment 2 Tomas Jelinek 2013-04-29 07:59:02 UTC
This was a feature of the windows SPICE client and possibly removed in remote-viewer. Could you please open this as RFE for SPICE?

Comment 3 Tomas Jelinek 2013-04-29 08:53:05 UTC
Ok, I was writing too soon, please ignore my previous comment :) It is a bug on our side where we create the whole menu and than do
client.dynamicMenu = "";

It did set the menu correctly for 3.0 and since 3.1 we throw it away.

The old 3.0 behavior was the following:
- for WebAdmin:
+ for win client set the correct menu
+ for linux client set empty menu
- for UserPortal:
+ always set the empty menu

The current (3.1+) behavior always sets the empty menu. The question is how should it behave? Is it correct that only the WebAdmin sets the menu? Or should it be done also for UserPortal?

Hi

In response to comment 3, I'd say it should be in both Web Admin and User Portal (if user has sufficient rights).

Ok, sf16.1 - virt-viewer (0.5.3-25.el6ev) delivered from SpiceX.cab from sf16.1.
