Description of problem: Provisioning - Kickstart - Schedule Schedule Kickstart and Finish Kickstart Progress During provisioning as novirt kickstart session proceeds successfully through its steps, there are items ticked. However, "Deploy configuration files" and "Kickstart complete" are never ticked, though successfully finished. Kickstart Progres v Initiate Kickstart v Reboot System v Register system to RHN Satellite Deploy configuration files Kickstart complete Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Satellite-5.6.0-RHEL6-re20130429.0 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. register client to satellite and add provisioning entitlement 2. create a novirt ks profile 3. provision a client system: <system details> - Provisioning - Kickstart - Schedule, choose novirt ks profile you've created and click "Schedule Kickstart and Finish" button, confirm with "Continue" button 4. you'll land in <system details> - Provisioning - Kickstart - Session status, look for "Kickstart Progress" section with its items 5. after successful provisioning there are still unticked items: - Deploy configuration files - Kickstart complete Actual results: successfully finished items not ticked Expected results: ticked all successful items Additional info: - regression against 5.4.1
It doesn't matter if it is a novirt or KVM virt kickstart session, the same issue is present. For KVM virt session , there is a one more item unticked - "Reboot System", but that's probably not a bug for this type of session (at start guest is created, not rebooted)
This bug was introduced as a side-effect of bug 600527. Specifically, the check put in place by 600527 was checking for the activation keys where it would make sense to find them if the client had passed them up as part of rhnreg_ks. However we actually get to the deploy_config code as part of the rhn_check call, not rhnreg_ks, and rhn_check knows nothing about the activation keys so it can't possibly pass them up. I have fixed the check to look in the correct place for the activation keys.
