RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Hello,
Here is what the enhancement requester states about the requested information:
• For USB redirection from Client (where the client does not need to be the host) to VM:
- Host/Client: usbredir package, It's in standard RHEL6 channel and qemu on the host needs to be set with correct options, which are not exposed in RHEL6 virt-manager but can be set manually using command line tool "virsh" according to the blog post - http://hansdegoede.livejournal.com/11084.html.
note the "which are not exposed in RHEL6 virt-manager but can be set manually" pieces.
• USB Redirection never worked properly in virt-manager throughout all our testing. Haven't retested with virt-manager since making the manual changes specified above. Spicy certainly started working.
• Red Hat providing a script to make the above changes would be useful. Or supporting the above setup in the virt-manager GUI. One should not be forced to go into virsh edit domain and manually edit xml to make usb redirection work.
Please feel free to let me know if there's anything else I can do to help keep this bug moving along.

I'm getting back to this bug after a while since it's not the highest priority right now, sorry for that. It's still not clear to me what's the requested work, but is it maybe what is written in BZ 807277 as well? Thanks for the info. In case the BZs are requesting the same behavior/information, feel free to either mark it as a duplicate or let me know and I'll handle the situation. Thanks.

closing as a DUP as this feature is a subset of what needs to be done for 807277.
