Created attachment 753373 [details] this requieres a reboot Description of the Issue: I installed 'XFCE Desktop' Base Environment + 'Applications for the LXDE Desktop' Add-on. I used VNC install method, the resulting system boots in text mode. There is initial setup, in text mode, but since i don't need it because i already set both the root password and created an user 'admin' i just pressed 'finish'. But it failed to finish and i was forced to reboot, hopping it executed ok. I rebooted, logged in as root and did an 'init 5' and discovered that i cannot log in to LXDE neither as root (later i found that this might be by default, as security setting) or as the user 'admin' which i created in Anaconda. I switched to another VT and use 'passwd' to re-set the password, then i was able to log in to LXDE as 'admin'. Version: F19b RC4 (19.30-1) Reproducible: always Steps to reproduce: 0. Boot anaconda with the VNC boot parameter 1. Perform the installation via VNC 2. Select 'LXDE Desktop' Base Environment (maybe optional, i did not try other BE) 3. Install F19b RC4 4. Set root password and create an user 'admin' with password. 5. Wait for the installation to finish. 6. Switch to VT2, check the logs, the user seems to have been created. 7. Reboot, initial setup shows up. 8. Since it is not needed, finish 'c'. 9. It did not finish ok, there was no other VT to log in, reboot. 10. Boot, log in as root, execute 'init 5' for graphical login. 11. the user 'admin' cannot log in. 12. Open another VT, log in as root and execute 'passwd' to the user 'admin' and re-set its password 13. Now, one can log in in LXDE with the user 'admin'. Actual results: Initial Setup (text mode) has some issue and breaks the user created via anaconda. Expected results: Initial Setup (text mode) should finish and give working getty on some VT. The currently used VT is preferred :-) Additional info: Attached screen-shot, i pressed 'c' but i don't really see the difference with 'q'. Maybe i should have pressed 'q' but i don't really see why i should. After 'c' one needs to reboot and the issue happens.
The 'c' means 'continue' and as everything was set in the installer, it just quits the I-S. The 'rm ...' are prints comming from the 'systemctl disable ...' invocations. But I have noidea, why systemd doesn't proceed to the login screen. Hitting Ctrl+Alt+F2 brings me to the tty2, where the login prompt appears.
This seems to be fixed by changes made for the bug #967617.
