Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Og Maciel 2013-06-04 14:13:35 UTC
Description of problem:

If I select a domain when creating a Hostgroup the subnet field does not become available for selection. But if I save, or attempt to save without entering a name, the field becomes selectable. Watching foreman/production.log shows 403s

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. As the foreman admin user create a new host group (the assumption is that you already have a smart proxy, domain, subdomain and content from Katello)
2.
3.

Actual results:

Some fields are not enabled after selecting values from the dropdowns (i.e. domain, operating system, etc)

Expected results:

hi,

  please provide verification steps

thanks

Comment 5 jmagen@redhat.com 2013-06-12 09:44:53 UTC
The pull request is now https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/pull/693, not what was previously entere: https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/pull/688

Verification steps.

1) click new hostgroup
2) select parent id
3) the following 5 fields should automatically be populated based on the parents info (assuming it exists)

+ @hostgroup.architecture
+ @hostgroup.operatingsystem
+ @hostgroup.domain
+ @hostgroup.subnet
+ @hostgroup.environment

Comment 6 Corey Welton 2013-06-12 20:33:53 UTC
poaching this bz since I'm here in this part of the code already.

Comment 7 Corey Welton 2013-06-12 20:34:43 UTC
QE Verified. The aforementioned fields in comment #6 now get autopopulated.
