Description of problem: will there be any possibility to do anaconda to update from a live system, without to boot from cd or net? something like # rpm -Fhv *.rpm, but more elaborate. -thanks- Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
This is what the up2date program does.
I was speaking about to update between redhat releases ex: from rh 6.2 to 9
to be clearer, something like debian way: "apt-cdrom add && apt-get dist-upgrade" but with anaconda
we will see if, now with Fedora, we are able to do it with yum.
upgrading from rhl 6.2 to 9 will cause an enormous amount of suffering I think. It's possible but you're going to have to fudge some packages.
