This is a request to provide information about the PXE server via Satellite's API if it is being utilized. This information is required by CloudForms and could assist with automatic discovery and configuration of Satellite as a provisioning method within CloudForms. Information required includes:

Name:

Access URL - http accessible address of PXE server.
URI - for SMB or NFS access.
PXE Directory - Directory of PXE server.
Windows Images Directory - Directory containing windows images.
Customization Directory - Directory where PXE records can be written.
Filename - menu file name for PXE server.

We have re-reviewed this RFE, as part of an ongoing effort to improve Satellite/Proxy RFE updates, review and backlog.

While this RFE is a valid request, we do not see it being implemented prior to the EOL of the Satellite 5.x product. Further, this enhancement request does not translate well into a Satellite 6 RFE. As such, this is being CLOSED DEFERRED. You are welcome to re-open this RFE if needed, or to open up a support case ( https://access.redhat.com/support ) for further review.

With the goal of minimizing risk of change for deployed systems, and in response to customer and partner requirements, Red Hat takes a conservative approach when evaluating enhancements for inclusion in releases for currently deployed products.

With version 5.7 being the last planned release for Satellite 5, closing now to help set customer expectations as early as possible.
