Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Ivan Necas 2013-06-12 11:31:19 UTC
Description of problem:
this happens when org, env, content view, product or repo label begin with 'katello' prefix.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a repo (published by http) with some distribution
2. create content view called katello, add the repo there
3. promote the content view
4. try to use the repo as installation media in foreman
(or try to access the repo through http)

Actual results:
http redirected to https (causing the tree not being available for provisioning)

Expected results:
provisioning works, access the repo through http works

Fixed in https://github.com/Katello/katello-installer/pull/34

Comment 2 RHEL Program Management 2013-06-12 18:33:12 UTC
Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

Comment 5 Mike McCune 2013-10-17 21:00:55 UTC
Moving this to be tested during MDP3, not critical for MDP2 success story

Comment 8 Kedar Bidarkar 2014-05-13 09:26:15 UTC
We are able to access the link via http now.
http://xxxx.redhat.com/pulp/repos/ACME_Corporation/Dev/cv-rhel65-ks-manifest/content/dist/rhel/server/6/6.5/x86_64/kickstart/

Also we are able to provision the vm's with the above link using it as Installation media.

so both provisioning and http access to the link works.
